WELCOME BACK LETTER MR. RICH

Star Valley Middle School Students,

I hope that you are having an incredible summer! As another year approaches, I wanted to take a moment to tell you how excited we are to welcome you back to Star Valley Middle School.

Before school begins, I encourage you to enjoy every remaining day of your summer.  Spend time with your family, make memories with your friends, explore the outdoors, and take advantage of the opportunities this season brings.  These moments are important, and I hope you return to school refreshed, energized, and ready for a great year.

As you prepare for the first day of school, I want to remind you of what it means to be a Warrior.  At Star Valley Middle School, we believe in The Warrior Way. Being a Warrior means treating others with kindness and respect, choosing to do what is right,  working hard even when things are challenging, and making our school a place where everyone feels welcomed and valued.  Each of you plays an important role in creating a positive school culture, and I know you will represent our school with pride both inside and outside the classroom.

As you begin your back to school shopping, please be aware that our dress code has been updated for the upcoming school year. We encourage you and. your parents to review the new guidelines before purchasing school clothes so you are prepared for a successful start to the year.

We have been working hard to prepare for another outstanding year filled with learning, growth, friendships, and new opportunities. We can’t wait to see all that you accomplish this year.

Enjoy the rest of your summer, stay safe, and make the most of these last few weeks. I am looking forward to seeing your smiling faces, hearing your stories, and welcoming you back into the hallways of Star Valley Middle School.

Go Warriors,

Jake Rich

Volleyball – Football – Cross Country

We are excited to announce that fall sports will begin on Monday, August 24th.

Cross country, volleyball, and football will all start Monday, August 24th after school.   Each athlete will need a physical that was completed after May 1st 2026, sign consent forms (available online or in the office), in order to practice and/or tryout.  There will also be an activity fee per student ($40.00) to participate in a fall sport. (This fee is separate from any camp fees that have already been paid.)

We will be doing concussion screening for Middle School athletes on Tuesday,  August 11th, from 8:00am – 4:00pm. We need to test all 7th graders that plan to participate in a fall sport and any new 8th grader this year. If your child has a smart phone we would ask that you have them download the Sway Medical app. If they do not have a device we will provide one for them. This will help us speed up the process. If you choose to not have them download the app that is okay and we respect your decision. We anticipate that this will take each athlete around 30 minutes. Please reach out to me via email if you have any questions, dasaltzman@lcsd2.org.

This will be on a first come first served bases as our space to screen is limited.  The screening test takes approximately 30 minutes.

You can go to https://svms.lcsd2.org/calendar/ to see the current schedule for cross county, football, and volleyball.   Please remember that these schedules do change with events being added and taken off throughout each season.

Thanks for your patience and support as we try and get things going again with our students.

Yearbook – Yearbook – Yearbook!!

If you would like to purchase a yearbook for the 2026-2027 school year, you may purchase one in the office.  ($30.00) To be guaranteed a yearbook, it needs to be purchased by December 22nd.

Don’t forget to send summer activity pictures to
