Exciting News: Girls Wrestling Debuts at Star Valley Middle School!
Star Valley Middle School is thrilled to announce the start of its very first girls wrestling season! Girls wrestling is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, with over 49,000 female high school wrestlers competing last year—a 55% increase from the previous year. With participation more than doubling in the past decade, wrestling is becoming a sport where girls can thrive, compete, and grow.
Last season, our female athletes competed alongside the boys and participated in girls-only tournaments, showcasing their talent and determination. This year, the wrestling room is dedicated just to them, creating a safe and supportive space to train, learn, and build confidence on and off the mat.
With 36 states now hosting separate state championships for girls and over 70 NCAA programs offering opportunities at the collegiate level, girls wrestling is paving the way for a bright future in the sport. Whether you’re experienced or brand-new to wrestling, this is your chance to give it a try in a respectful and encouraging environment.
We’re excited to see our Star Valley athletes break barriers, make history, and inspire others. Let’s show them our full support as they take on this incredible journey! Go Star Valley!
